Alvarado Elementary School is a learning center that serves more than 350 students in kindergarten through grade five. In addition to Title I, bilingual and special education programs, it offers classes in reading, mathematics, English and science. The school has a parent-teacher organization and is governed by Albuquerque Public Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools that offers education to more than 88,000 students.
