Located in Phoenix, ACCEL is a private, nonprofit, special education school that provides educational, behavioral and therapeutic services to more than 200 students with cognitive, emotional, orthopedic and behavioral disabilities. The school s staff includes certified teachers and therapists who deliver services to students utilizing a cooperative team approach. The school provides a variety of programs to enhance motor development, sensory awareness, language development and social-emotional growth of students. It offers physical, speech, occupational, vision, movement and music therapies. It also conducts adaptive physical education and therapeutic horseback riding programs. The school s vocational programs are designed to develop productive work skills among students to prepare them for future employment and transition into the work world. ACCEL's nursing services include meeting the needs of medically fragile students, responding to daily incidents, and providing health education and counseling.
