AfterSchool Academy is an after-school Tutoring and Custom Learning Center where:experienced classroom teachers use proven methods to help students succeed,students develop good study habits and strive to excel academically, andstudents and teachers use technology and online resources to push the boundaries of learning.Salli Ford - FounderSalli Cavanaugh Ford grew up in Auburn, CA and attended Loretto High School in Sacramento before going on to Creighton University in Omaha, NE where she received a B.S. in Environmental Science with a Minor in Spanish. Salli then moved to Boston to work for two years in an innovative all-girls middle school called Mother Caroline Academy, which seeks to intervene in the lives of at-risk girls with intensive academic formation in order to prepare them for the best public and private high schools and universities. Salli later enrolled in the Lynch School of Education at Boston College and completed an M.Ed. While completing her Masters, Salli gained experience in high school and undergraduate classrooms and working in Graduate Student Services at B.C. She later spent two years working with young adults with special needs in an on-campus, non-degree program at Lesley University. During this time and later, Salli ran Religious Education programs at several Boston-area parishes. Over several years spent raising her children, Salli directed Science Camps while living in Dallas, TX. After moving back to Sacramento in 2010, Salli went back to the classroom to teach Science to grades K-5.
