The AID for the CHILDREN of LIBERIA (ACL), is a 501c3 charitable organization established in 2006 to engage in child development activities within United States and Liberia. The overall goal of ACL is to promote child and youth development through after school civic engagement activities for community children to encourage behavior change, and to enhance their civic intellectual skills for constructive participation and effective decision making and leadership. In Liberia, ACL is also working to provide opportunity for war affected and vulnerable children to have access to education, healthcare, food, clothes, and a caring and peaceful environment where their confidence, sense of belonging, self esteem and hope for the future can be restored. The organization seeks to establish partnerships in our target countries: with the National Civil Society Advisory Council, and other corporate groups in Liberia, as well as the United States of America. ACL has representation in five US states, including California, Indiana, Delaware, New York, and the home state Pennsylvania.
