Alaska Clean Seas

Alaska Clean Seas, also known as ACS, is a nonprofit oil spill response cooperative. Founded in 1979, it offers a range of equipment and materials. The organization provides arctic-oriented spill response training programs to its member companies, contractors, village response teams and government agencies. It deals in wildlife protection, incident management, and safety and health issues. The organization specializes in the manifestation of hazardous waste shipments. Alaska Clean Seas offers a variety of membership options to oil and pipeline companies. The organization maintains more than 180 skimmers and over 90 vessels. It manages a staff of nearly 70 people. Alaska Clean Seas members include Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Brooks Range Petroleum and ExxonMobil Production Company.
