The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control is an administrative hearing agency that offers a range of public safety services. It controls the distribution of alcoholic beverages and enforces laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages and tobacco products. The agency undertakes state, local and federal investigations for various criminal activities, including gambling, money laundering and tax evasions. The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control also conducts underage sale compliance checks and enforces laws in more than 14,000 licensed establishments.
