The Transportation Department maintains one of the largest fleets of buses in Texas. The department transports up to 37,000 students daily. Its buses travel approximately 8 million miles annually. The department maintains a mechanic shop and nursery. The Aldine Independent School District governs elementary, intermediate, alternate and senior high schools.
