American Bank is a locally owned, independent financial institution that opened its doors for business at the Fond du Lac location in 1968. Over the course of more than 30 years the bank has grown to over $175,000,000 in assets with six locations and six ATMs to serve its customers. American Bank acquired two additional locations, Brownsville and Knowles, in 1994. Because of the growth to Dodge County, the bank then changed its name to American Bank rather than American Bank of Fond du Lac. The purchase of the two offices provided the bank the opportunity for growth with the added benefit of serving the additional communities of Mayville, Omro and Princeton, Wis. American Bank began servicing its own fixed rate residential mortgage loans in 1994. This allows its mortgage customers the ability to obtain personalized assistance with their mortgage from loan personnel at any of our six locations. Currently, more than 2,000 customers are taking advantage of this service.
