The American Bus Association represents the motorcoach industry's interests in Washington, D.C. The ABA represents approximately 950 motorcoach and tour companies in the United States and Canada. Its members operate charter, tour, regular route, airport express, special operations and contract services. Another 2,300 member organizations represent the travel and tourism industry and suppliers of bus products and services who work in partnership with the motorcoach industry. The association has a variety of membership categories, including motorcoach operators, which are members who own motorcoaches and provide services, such as charters, tours, sightseeing, scheduled service, school bus service, special operations and local receptive operations; tour operators that organize tours without owning equipment and contracts for coach and other transportation for hotels, attractions and other travel suppliers; travel industry members, which consist of tourism-related companies and organizations; and associates, such as manufacturers and suppliers of bus products and services.
