American College of Sports Medicine, founded in 1954, is one of the largest sports medicine and exercise science organizations in the world, with more than 20,000 international, national and regional chapter members. The college promotes and integrates scientific research, education, and practical applications of sports medicine, and exercise science to maintain and enhance physical performance, fitness, health and quality of life.
