Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the American Health Care Association maintains legislative, regulatory and public affairs, as well as member services personnel. The association focuses on improving the standards of service and administration of member nursing homes. Its facility operations include survey and certification, clinical practice, disaster planning, fire and life safety, finance and health information technology. The American Health Care Association also operates the Legislative Action Center, which provides the latest information about legislation and policy-related to long-term care facilities.
