Established in 1924, the American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency that works to improve public health and spread medical awareness. It promotes heart health through advocacy, fundraising, research, and the education of the public and health professionals. The organization is divided into the National Center, which is in Dallas and other affiliate offices throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
