The American Jewish Committee was founded in 1906 to safeguard, strengthen and promote culture in the Jewish community worldwide. It is an advocacy organization that acts on trends and problems, including confronting terrorism, supporting peace and advancing intergroup activities. The committee also works for understanding and enhancing Jewish life by preserving human rights. Its international activities include humanitarian campaigns and counter terrorism watch in Israel, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia and the United Nations. AJC s publications are printed in 20 languages. Its international partners include Shalom Organization of Jews in Bulgaria, European Union of Jewish Students and The Federation of Jewish Communities in the Czech Republic, Turkish Jewish Community and the European Union of Jewish Students. It is headquartered in New York City.
