American Rivers is a national nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to protecting and restoring healthy natural rivers and the variety of life they sustain. It delivers innovative solutions to improve river health, raise awareness among decision-makers and the public, and serves and mobilizes the river conservation movement. The organization collaborates with several partners to develop the Citizens Agenda for Rivers that creates a unified vision for improving river health throughout the country. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., American Rivers has a membership base of more than 40,000 individuals. It operates a regional office in the northwest with locations in Seattle and Portland, Ore. In addition, the organization has field offices in California, Connecticut, Nebraska, Pennsylvania and South Dakota.
