HISTORY: Thomas Choate Smith QA, CPA founded AmGuard Security in 2003 after more than ten years ofmanagementexperience in the security-guard industry. Tom is a CPA and his background also includes twenty-two years experience as Vice President/Internal AuditManager for two top-10 nationwide financial institutions. PHILOSOPHY: Our philosophy is that if we diligently manage our employees and treat them fairly, they are more likely to serve our clients with care. Communication of expectations and standards is a key factor. CLEAR EXPECTATIONS: We utilize a detailed employee policy handbook, plus written operating procedures unique to each client/post to make clear what is expected; and we stress compliance with these documents. SUPERVISION: Consistent and proactive supervision is also a key. Many companies simply send someone to the post and assume all is well unless the client complains. We, however, adhere to the theory that employees might not always do what we expect, but they will do what we inspect; therefore, we emphasize unannounced supervisory post visits.
