The company is part of the AMVETS National Service Foundation that was created in 1948 with the goal of helping the unprecedented number of veterans returning from World War II to assimilate into civilian life. AMVETS National Service Officers and volunteers were trained by AMVETS and were recruited to work directly with these veterans and assist them with their individual needs. In addition to assisting those veterans with severe physical and psychological needs, the foundation works with many other veterans requiring assistance with disability benefits, the G.I.
