Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau provides its members business and exposure in the national and international marketplace. It provides visitor information, statistics and resources for its key audiences, including meeting planners, travel agents and tour operators, media and members. The bureau s marketing operations are funded by half of the bed tax collected by hotels, motels, and bed and breakfasts, paid for by visitors. The other half goes to the municipality s general fund, and ACVB receives no state or federal funds. Its members receive promotion and exposure through a progressive Web site and brochure distribution at four visitor information centers. In addition to an annual convention, Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau hosts a variety of professional development seminars, promotion and peer networking events.
