Andrea Celestine Long earned her law degree in 1985 from the T.C. Williams School of Law of the University of Richmond, where she served on the adjunct faculty for two years. She is a highly respected appellate attorney who has been recruited by the states' appellate courts to assume representation of convicted criminal defendants whose attorneys cannot continue to represent them on appeal. She is also a plaintiff's attorney for personal injury cases.
In the past 15 years, she has developed a specialty in Family Law, initially as a service to her firm's clientele. She donates her services to the Chesterfield and Henrico County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Protective Order projects, assisting abused family members seeking court protection, and has in the past volunteered through the Metropolitan Richmond Women's Bar to assist women in several battered women's shelters. Fully committed to competent representation for indigent litigants, she still takes court appointments in the Chesterfield and Richmond juvenile courts. She loves children and is a qualified guardian "ad item"
