The Rush University Medical Center Department of Anesthesiology provides a full range of anesthesia and critical care services for patients undergoing surgery. The department's staff includes physicians trained in all areas of anesthesiology, such as pain management, surgical critical care and obstetrical anesthesia. The services provided include the subspecialty areas of anesthesiology, such as pain medicine, cardio-thoracic anesthesia, clinical anesthesia, post-anesthesia care, and obstetric and gynecological anesthesia. The subspecialty areas also include ambulatory preoperative evaluation and liver transplant, spine, pediatric, regional and neuro anesthesia. Additionally, the department operates a pain center that provides acute and chronic pain management services for patients in perioperative and nonoperative settings.
