The MISSION of Angels of the OR, Inc is to fund state-of-the-art pediatric and adult neurosurgical and related medical services for patients in need, regardless of their ability to pay. Dr. Ben Carson and Dr. Cliff Solomon agreed that it was the most frustrating part of their jobs. Not the long hours in surgery. Not the crowded schedule of patient visits. It was the feeling of powerlessness being unable to help those people who couldn't pay for the specialized brain or spine surgery they needed. A lack of insurance was the most prevalent reason. But even patients with coverage sometimes found it inadequate. Out-of-pocket costs proved devastating.
