Petersen our hospital administrator and owner of the hospital grew up in Washington State. Undergraduate schooling at The United States Military Academy and military service kept him away from this area for a number of years. He returned in 1979 to attend Washington State University earning the degrees Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Ph.D. in Veterinary Comparative Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology. After working for a time in Puyallup he purchased and reopened Animal Hospital of Parkland. In 2009 he achieved Board Certification and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Feline Specialty.
