The Houston Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute is a nonprofit organization of oil and gas professionals dedicated to providing a forum for discussion of energy related issues and promoting actions to improve the energy industry through education and personal interaction. The group sponsors eight or nine general monthly meetings between September and May that feature guest speakers who give lectures on topics in the petroleum industry. As the primary trade association of that industry, API represents more than 400 members involved in all aspects of the oil and natural gas industry. The association draws on the experience and expertise of its members and staff to support a strong and viable industry.
