Founded in 1987, the Art Students League of Denver is a membership-based, nonprofit organization that provides students with opportunities to study with regionally and nationally recognized working artists in a variety of media. It provides a creative environment for artistic expression through dialogue, instruction and active learning. The organization serves more than 600 students every month and attracts over 60 noted artists to offer fine art classes. The Art Students League of Denver conducts ongoing classes, workshops and lectures on various topics. It is supported by tuitions, foundation grants, private donations and the Scientific Cultural Facilities District. The Art Students League of Denver also organizes various advanced artist seminars.
