Founded in 1948, the Arthritis Foundation is one of the largest contributors to arthritis research in the world. Located in Tucson, Ariz., the foundation supports more than 100 types of arthritis and related conditions. It also helps people take control of arthritis by providing public health education, pursuing public policy and providing legislation services. In addition, the group offers evidence-based programs and specialized arthritis self-management/exercise classes. The Arthritis Foundation has partnerships with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.
