Company History Founded in Chicago in 1994, Artifex has a solid background in structure and design and has built many multi-unit, single family and commercial spaces throughout Chicagoland. Artifex Builders mixes funkiness and designer details with affordability in the installation of beautiful stores and mosaics, finish trim, and cabinetry. Artifex President Dan Zolkowski holds both Business and Carpentry degrees and has almost 20 years of building experience. Vice President Ed Niznik has a degree in Business Management with 12 years of management experience. CFO Jim Kostrewa, CPA and MBA has a firm grip on costs and bookkeeping.
