Role as a PsychiatristI am a psychiatrist who works with children, teenagers, adults and their families to help them with mental, emotional and behavioral challenges. As a psychiatrist, I employ both psychotherapy and psychiatric medication, when appropriate, to improve the functioning and happiness and alleviate the suffering of my patients. I am a general psychiatrist, meaning that I enjoy, and have experience, working with many different types of people on a wide range of issues.
Areas of Psychiatric ExpertiseI see all ages with a particular emphasis on late adolescence and early and middle adulthood and the attendant age-related problems including struggles with family, relationships, school, career and the vicissitudes of life. In addition to treating common presenting psychiatric problems like impaired job performance, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, and ADHD, I have expertise in a number of specialty areas such as eating disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and child behavioral problems. Finally, I have a specific interest in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing to help patients make positive, sustained changes.
