Athens Regional's nationally recognized state-of-the-art Breast Health Center provides a private, personalized approach to mammography, breast ultrasound and biopsy.
The Breast Health Center at Athens Regional Medical Center was recognized by Imaging and Technology News as one of only five "Most Influential Women's Centers." Marrying technology with patient care, the Breast Health Center offers North Georgia's first fully digital mammography center in a serene, spa-like setting.
In addition, one of the Center's most notable advantages is its ability to provide same-day results for all diagnostic mammograms and ultrasounds.
Our dedicated staff features clinical breast radiologists specializing in the early detection of breast cancer, registered mammography and ultrasound technologists with focused training in breast imaging and breast health nurse specialists.
The Breast Health Center and the Mobile Mammography Unit have provided more than 37,000 screening mammograms since 2004. More than 14,500 diagnostic exams have been performed, in addition to the more than 1,300 image-guided biopsy procedures.
