Pediatric Services at Athens Regional Medical Center provides an experienced team with a strong commitment to caring for your child and your family.
When your child is a patient with us, you will receive the best in family-centered care. We know children get better faster when their loved ones are with them. Meals are provided for the parent staying with the child. Siblings are welcome to visit during regular visiting hours -- noon to 8:30 p.m.
We know that play is a child's work. A beautiful playroom is available 24 hours a day and is often staffed with volunteers. We also offer a library of books and kid-friendly videos for your child's entertainment.
Pediatrics Nurse Advice Line
Staffed by experienced pediatric registered nurses, the Pediatric Nurse Advice Line provides after-hours pediatrician call screening and advice services for patients of pediatricians affiliated with or with admitting privileges at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Callers are offered information, support, education -- all based on pediatrician-approved protocols. Parents are also helped with decisions about when they need to see or speak to a pediatrician.
Pediatrics Nurse Line Hours
You will be connected to the Pediatric Nurse Advice Line when you call your pediatrician's office between: 5 p.m. – 6 a.m. Monday – Thursday or after noon on Saturday.
POPS - Pediatric Outpatient Services
Pediatric Outpatient Services, or POPS, is on the third floor of Athens Regional Medical Center's Talmadge Tower, in the Pediatrics Department.
Patients must be referred by a doctor or primary care provider with privileges at ARMC. Sick and well child waiting rooms are available for patients and their families.
Services include nursing observation and treatment for up to a 12-hour stay and are available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
The five-bed unit specializes in non-emergency outpatient care and treatment of children under 17 years old, as well as women in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy.
