Atlanta Postal Credit Union, chartered in 1925 by United States Postal Service employees, is Georgia's oldest credit union. APCU is among the largest credit unions in the nation and is the biggest postal credit union in the United States. Atlanta Postal Credit Union is a member-owned, nonprofit financial cooperative. From an initial investment of $2,505 in 1925, Atlanta Postal Credit Union's assets have grown to more than $1.4 billion and membership in excess of 90,000 members. The institution offers savings, checking and lending programs for its members. The firm also offers some insurance and real estate services.
