The Attorney General s Office offers a range of legal services to various state agencies and boards. The office maintains a criminal justice division that offers crime victims services and has an abuse, neglect and exploitation unit. It also operates Kansas solicitor general and civil litigation divisions. The Attorney General s Office has a consumer protection division that investigates scams, mediates and prosecutes violations of consumer protection acts, as well as provides information to consumers on a variety of topics. The office maintains the Tobacco Enforcement Unit. It researches and prepares legal opinions for public officials and offers advice to professional licensing boards and other government agencies.
