Aviation Administration

The Maryland Aviation Administration is a part of the Department of Transportation, which is governed by the state government of Maryland. The Maryland Aviation Administration owns and operates the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) and the Martin State Airport. The agency is responsible for ensuring safety, efficiency and economic viability of aviation operations in the state. The Maryland Aviation Administration provides domestic and international passenger and cargo services through its airports. Its office of regional aviation assistance develops and regulates aviation activities throughout the state. The agency administers the Minority/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program, which ensures nondiscrimination in contract awards.
