Incorporated in 1981, California Detoxification Program provides medically monitored opiate withdrawal services. CDP works with Bay Area Addiction Research and Treatment, a privately held corporation that owns and operates fourteen clinics in four counties in California, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Fresno and Contra Costa, in addition to two mobile-centric clinics in Vermont. CDP offers primary medical care services to BAART and CDP patients, their family members and the community-at-large. Beyond the scope of methadone maintenance and detoxification services, the BAART and CDP programs have successfully developed and implemented a number of treatment components including sedative detoxification, drug-free treatments, stimulant abuse treatment, aftercare services, pregnant addict treatment, primary medical care, family counseling, parenting training and HIV antibody screening in concert with education and interventions to reduce risk behaviors among intravenous drug users. CDP has clinics in Los Angeles, Fresno and Bay Area, Calif., and St. Johnsbury and Newport, Vt.
