Maureen Cole became the Administrator of B.T.P.L. in the summer of 1995 after completing her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Development from Marymount University. Mrs. Cole understands the need for continual education and training for herself as well as her staff, as childcare is a diverse and growing industry. Offering exceptional care in a safe and comfortable facility involves not only meeting, but also exceeding state licensing requirements.
Personal attention is key in a child's learning development. Each classroom has a monthly schedule of what your child will learn. This schedule helps parents reinforce the day's lessons when the family has quality time at night. Lessons can range from learning numbers and letters to the ability to identify shapes and colors. Lessons are not only taught in the classroom, but also in the form of fieldtrips.
A schedule of fieldtrips is available for each classroom along with permission slips. These fieldtrips range from seeing how pizza is made to the sensory wonder of the Fairfax Petting Zoo. Extra programs like creative dance and gigglebyte computer classes are offered to the older children.
Services/Products
Mrs. Cole welcomes parents to watch their child interact in the classroom and the playground. There are plenty of "parent places" where Mom and Dad can watch without being discovered by their child. There are special events for parents to assist with and enjoy. The Halloween parade/party is always a community favorite. Another favorite is the Graduation Celebration for the Pre-K class as they move on to Kindergarten.
Lunch is provided everyday for the children. If a child has special dietary needs, B.T.P.L. respects and can accommodate these needs. Birthdays can be celebrated in each classroom also. B.T.P.L. assists in various childhood hurdles like breaking the bottle habit and potty-training.
