Get to know our business. Barrier Island Marine began in 2005 with Lane Jefferies and Marcus Taylor. As employees of Barrier Island Yacht Sales, they saw the opportunity to start a new boat dealership selling high-quality, trailerable boats. Soon after, Scott Chapman joined them. They envisioned representing boat brands that people in Charleston aspired to own. The Barrier Island Marine founders also wanted to support their clients with friendly, reliable and competent service from people who live and breathe boats. We are living that vision today.
