The Beacon Council is a nonprofit, public-private organization that focuses on job creation and economic growth by coordinating several communitywide programs. It is an economic development organization in North America. The Beacon Council is accredited by the International Economic Development Council. It also promotes minority businesses and urban economic revitalization. In addition, the organization provides assistance to local businesses in their expansion efforts. Established in 1986, it has completed more than 650 new location and expansion projects. The organization provides customized assistance to companies with site identification, research, business incentive programs and labor recruitment. Located in Miami, the Beacon Council supports an employee assistance relocation program.
