Located in Tampa, Fla., Berkeley Preparatory School was founded in 1960, and is a coeducational, independent preparatory day school, serving students in prekidergarten through grades 12. It has lower, middle and upper divisions. It enrolls more than 1,200 students and offers scholarship funding. The school s curriculum includes arts, technology, foreign languages, English, history, mathematics, physical education and science. It provides various facilities, such as classrooms, a fine arts wing, two libraries, general convocation rooms, physical education fields, a prekindergarten and kindergarten wing, and administrative offices. The school also has two gymnasiums, a wrestling room, weight room, tennis courts and swimming pool. Its performing arts center includes a gallery for visual arts displays, a studio, dressing rooms and an orchestra pit. Its athletic programs include football, golf, cross country, soccer, track, volleyball, basketball, swimming and diving, cheerleading and rowing. It is approved by the Florida Council of Independent Schools.
