Donors must meet these preliminary eligibility requirements:
* Be between the ages of 18 and 69
* Weigh at least 110 lbs
* Be in general good health
New Donors Must Also:
Possess a document with their Social Security Number or a Visa Border Crossing Card.
Possess a valid picture ID (for example: driver's license, student or military ID) with their current address.
Possess proof that they reside within 125 miles of the donor center.
Preparing to Donate:
Starting the day before the donation:
Drink lots of water the day before and the same day you donate.
Prior to donating, EAT A WELL-BALANCED MEAL and avoid alcohol or beverages with caffeine.
Avoid fatty and high-cholesterol foods like cheese, whole milk, fried foods, hot dogs, etc.
Maintain your iron and protein levels by eating a well-balanced diet.
Finally, drink plenty of water after you donate to replenish fluids.
Visit a Plasma Donor Center
Check in at the Front Reception Desk:
Upon entering the facility, please provide a current photo ID, proof of Social Security Number or a Visa Border Crossing Card, and proof of your Current Address (current lease, utility bill, etc.). You will then be asked to fill out a questionnaire that will aid us in determining your suitability for donation. Finally, we will also take a photo of you to keep in your donor record file.
