Biscayne Elementary Community School, governed by Miami-Dade County Public Schools, serves more than 800 students in pre-kindergarten through grade five. Established in 1941, the school s curriculum includes English, Spanish, math, language arts, social studies and physical education. Biscayne Elementary Community School coordinates the Title I program. The school also administers English Language Learners and Extended Foreign Language programs. It offers a variety of enrichment classes for students, including ballet, computer education and self-defense training. The school provides speech therapy services to students with special needs. It maintains a media center and employs a staff of over 75 individuals. Biscayne Elementary Community School s parent-teacher-student association participates in various welfare activities.
