Opened in 1956, Blake High School serves students in grades 9 through 12. Its academic curriculum includes programs in mathematics, social studies, science, physical education, English and business technology. The school additionally offers a performing and visual arts magnet program that includes music, chorus, band, guitar, piano, theater, dance and drama classes. Blake High School also has world languages and family and consumer science departments. Its athletics department offers a variety of sports activities, such as basketball, soccer, wrestling, golf and cross country. The school supports several clubs and organizations that include the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, and key, chess, peer mediation and yearbook clubs. In addition, Blake High School offers an accelerated reader program that encourages students to read more books. It is located in Tampa, Fla., and is a part of Hillsborough County Public Schools.
