About Our Law Office Our office was founded in 2002 as Nelson Law Office. In 2006, our firm incorporated as the Law Offices of David C. Nelson, Ltd and kept NLO Nelson Law Office as an assumed name that we also practice law under. Our firm originally handled real estate closings and estate administration work. Our firm carries on a tradition of personal bankruptcy work as well. Attorney Nelson worked on his first bankruptcy in 1992 and has remained a strong advocate for personal bankruptcy as a tool to assist those in financial trouble looking for useful solutions to their problems. While working with Latin United Community Housing, ACORN and the City of Chicago, our firm has developed an expertise in working with first time homebuyers and specialized grants for subsidized housing. Our firm still regularly speaks at first time homebuyer seminars. As our firm has grown, we have concentrated our practice in the areas of real estate, estate planning and administration and bankruptcy. We are a small firm that strives to provide high quality legal services for every client.
