BME Systems creates instrumentation and software for biotechnology and medical research that facilitate, integrate, streamline and automate using informatic, mechanical and electronic engineering tools and products. Biomedical engineering is a multidisciplinary field with extensions from virtually every branch of engineering, especially the electrical, mechanical and computer sciences. Comprehensive knowledge of each of these disciplines is often required for each application that reveals signals or stimulates structures within living organisms. Typical engineering tasks can range from monitoring pico amp currents in cellular membranes to controlling the growth of 1000-liter fermentations containing millions of organisms. BME Systems uses engineering techniques in combination with commercially available tools and products to integrate, facilitate and automate laboratory experiments and processes in biological research and production.
