The Board of Commerce and Industry is a part of the Louisiana Economic Development Department. It consists of more than 15 members and holds various open, regular and special meetings. The board also conducts quorums in accordance with the Robert's Rules of Order. Its secretarial office maintains a record of proceedings and serves as a custodian of all books, documents and papers filed with the board. It also provides contracts for tax exemptions, credits and rebates. Located in Baton Rogue, La., the board works with the Office of Business Development. The office s communication and marketing division spearheads the strategic direction and daily management of advertising programs, interactive media, creative development and budgetary matters. It also establishes and maintains continuity throughout visual and written communications.
