Bodek and Rhodes is a 64-year-old wholesaler of imprintable activewear. Ed Bodek and Harry Rhodes founded the company in 1939. They each pooled $100 to supply socks and underwear to the retail trade, working from a basement warehouse in downtown Philadelphia. In the 1970s, Harry s son, Art, assumed leadership of the business. Screen printers were requesting undershirts for decoration. Art saw the future of this industry and changed the company s focus from the retail trade to the imprinted sportswear market. The company launched its private label, The UltraClub Collection, in 1992. Bodek and Rhodes has its headquarters in Philadelphia and satellite warehouses in Niles, Mich., and Fresno, Calif.
