Boyce Middle School is a U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon "Excellence in Education" school, as well as a recipient of the Parent Involvement Schools of Excellence award. The school s curriculum includes mathematics, social studies, science, language arts, physical education, and French, German and Spanish languages. Boyce Middle School also offers classes in art, music, family and consumer science and technology education. The school encourages students to take part in a variety of school activities and organizations, such as library reading club, band, chorus and orchestra. The school s sports programs include volleyball, basketball, bowling and pickleball. The students of Boyce Middle School take part in various community service projects, including serving lunches at Miryam's Women's Shelter, visiting and entertaining the residents at Friendship Village and collecting caned food for the Pittsburgh Food Bank.
