Breakthrough Urban Ministries, founded in 1992, provides neighborhood-based holistic services that empower individuals, families, and urban communities to overcome poverty, addiction and isolation. The organization offers homeless centers and services for men and women, a street outreach to women in prostitution, and a youth and family outreach program. It empowers men to break free from homelessness, addictions, and other barriers to employment. It also helps women in crisis, and offers them a variety of services, including case management, referrals, daily meals, overnight shelter, street outreach, medical screening, health education, and Bible study. Breakthrough Urban Ministries offer services for community children and youth, including after school tutoring, summer education programs, Bible studies, and basketball, baseball, softball and soccer sports leagues. The organization is headquartered in Chicago.
