Founded in 1979, The Breast Examination Center of Harlem is an outreach program of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Based in New York, N.Y., the center provides breast and cervical cancer screening services. It also renders mammography, pelvic examination and pap smear. The Breast Examination Center of Harlem provides counseling services pertaining to numerous procedures, such as removal of lumps. In addition, the center conducts several educational programs in breast self-examination techniques, including video presentations, seminars and workshops.
