As a service unit of the Brevard County Parks & Recreation Department, South Area Parks administers a range of recreational facilities and parks in Florida. Its Bonsteel Park is a spread over an area of more than 2 acres and provides fishing, surfing and swimming opportunities. The unit manages Canova Beach Park, which features a small pavilion, grill, picnic shelter, restrooms and showers. Its Spessard Holland South Beach Park serves as an entertainment facility for family outings and vacations. The unit s Viera Regional Park includes softball, baseball fields and T-ball fields, as well as over 18,000-square-feet community center. Its parks offer wildlife observation opportunities and conduct guided walks.
