With a desire to build the United States best industrial supplier, J.C. Weaver and C.H. Briggs established Briggs-Weaver Machinery Company in 1896. The Dallas-based company provides service for pump installations, lift trucks and material handling. The company provides some of the best industrial equipment and services to many specialized industries throughout the Southwest region. Briggs Equipment became a separate working operation of Sammons Enterprises in 1996, and one of its largest members. This has led it to become one of North America's largest dealers of industrial and construction equipment. Some of the products the company provides include forklifts, trailer spotters, railcar movers, sweepers and scrubbers, parts and tuggers. It offers a variety of services, such as materials handling, contractor rentals, consulting, financing and safety information through training programs. Briggs Equipment is headquartered in Dallas, with other locations in Atlanta, and Charlotte, N.C.
