M. Bruenger & Co. is a quality service carrier that specializes in the refrigerated and dry freight market. The trucking company was founded in 1936 as a result of a theft of the founder s pickup truck. Upon recovering his stolen truck in Virginia, Maurice Bruenger decided to haul apples back to Kansas, where the company was founded, to sell the fruit so the trip would not be a total loss. The company now maintains nearly 150 trailers that include Freightliners, Kenworths, Internationals and Volvos. M. Bruenger & Co., an employer of more than 100, maintains operations in Wichita, Kan.
