Buchanan Dental Center is an off-site extension of the University of California, San Francisco s School of Dentistry. Most of the providers at the center are dental students. The students provide a wide range of services, including dental examinations, teeth cleaning, periodontal therapy, root canal treatment and dental fillings. The center also offers cosmetic procedures, bleaching, crowns, dental implants, extractions, dentures, bridges and treatment of dental emergencies. In addition to the dental students, faculty members also provide dental services. The areas of practice include general dentistry, oral surgery and orthodontics. The outpatient services provided at the center include extraction of wisdom and other teeth under nitrous oxide, intravenous and general anesthesia; pre-prosthetic surgery; and treatment of oral infections and pathological conditions of the oral cavity and jaws. Buchanan Dental Center accepts most major dental insurance plans and Medi-Cal, and is located in San Francisco.
